The 1M has that classic square stance which makes it look angry even sitting still. The BMW M2 which succeeded it is a great car but is in no way better-looking than the 1M to my eyes. The chassis is brilliant because it’s so playful, the engine has plenty of poke, and it looks killer. Over time though, it’s become an icon, arguably the best thing BMW ‘M’ has created to date.
